Fatal Traffic Accident at 800 West Cavalcade

December 4, 2009 - A motorist injured in a traffic accident in the 800 block of West Cavalcade about 1:10 p.m. on Monday (Nov. 30) has died from her injuries.

The female victim, Susie M. Green, 73, of Houston, suffered internal injuries and was transported to L.B. J. Hospital where doctors pronounced her dead on Tuesday (Dec. 1).

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant G. T. Hall and Officer G. E. Michon reported:

Ms. Green was driving a green Chevrolet Malibu eastbound on Cavalcade and ran a red light at the intersection of Irvington. Her Malibu then struck a black Ford pickup truck. The driver of the Ford was not injured and, at that time, Green refused medical treatment. Later that day, Green called an ambulance to her residence to take her to the hospital.
