Investigation Into Fatal Shooting at 15703 Old Humble Road

August 31, 2009 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of one man and wounding of another at 15703 Old Humble Road about 7:30 p.m. on Friday (Aug. 28).

The deceased male victim suffered a gunshot wound to the chest.  His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Medical Examiner's Office.  The other male suffered a gunshot wound to the leg.  He is in stable condition at Ben Taub General Hospital.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant P. Munoz and Officer D. Gunter reported:

The victim and a friend were meeting over a dispute regarding a possible burglary to the victim's house a few weeks ago.  The two men were supposed to meet with a third man that supposedly took property from inside the victim's home.  While the two friends were discussing the burglary, someone began shooting, causing the victim to be struck in the chest and his friend in the leg. Both men were transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where the victim was pronounced dead.
