Fatal Traffic Accident at 4400 North Eldridge Parkway

August 31, 2009 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 4400 North Eldridge Parkway about 3:05 a.m. on Saturday (Aug. 29).

The identities of two deceased victims are pending verification by the Harris County Medical Examiner's Office.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant R. Rodriguez and Officer M. Reyes reported:

Witnesses said a white Ford van was traveling north on North Eldridge Parkway and began weaving and crossing over into the southbound lanes, where it struck a white Mercury Grand Marquis on the driver side. The van continued north in the southbound lanes and then struck a white Ford F-150 pickup truck head-on.

The driver of the van died at the scene and the driver of the Ford truck was pronounced dead at Memorial Hermann Northwest Hospital.

The investigation is continuing.
