Suspects Identified, Charged in Pawn Shop Robbery August 19, 2009 - Charges have been filed against four suspects wanted in the robbery of an InstaCash Pawn Shop at 9303 Long Point on March 16. Ramfis Antonio Medina (H/m, DOB: 6-15-84), Abel V. Mayoral Perez (H/m, DOB: 8-21-78), Michael A. Nazario (H/m, DOB: 12-15-86), and Luis Francisco Wayman (H/m, DOB: 9-19-76) are charged with aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon in the 228th State District Court. Perez, Nazario, and Wayman are currently in the custody of Florida’s Orange County Jail. The fourth suspect, Medina, remains at large. Medina has also been positively identified as participating in a robbery at the EZ Pawn at 7503 Airline on Feb. 14. Photos of the suspects are attached to this news release.
HPD Robbery Division Senior Police Officer P. Reese reported: The suspects, armed with pistols, entered the InstaCash Pawn Shop while posing as customers and robbed the employees of cash and jewelry. The suspects used plastic zip ties to restrain the victims. Suspect Medina, along with three other suspects who have not been positively identified, used similar methods to rob employees of the EZ Pawn on Valentine’s Day. Orange County detectives were able to connect shipments of teddy bears from Houston that contained stolen jewelry to the suspects, and together with HPD’s Robbery Division, were able to identify the four suspects as the men wanted in the Houston robbery.
