Suspects Arrested, Charged in Fatal Stabbing at 3043 Golfcrest #17 August 19, 2009 - Charges have been filed against two suspects arrested in the fatal stabbing of a man at 3043 Golfcrest #17 about 8 a.m. on Monday (Aug. 17). The suspects, Freddie Orlando Reyes (H/m, DOB: 3-20-82) and Hugo Salvador Lopez (H/m, DOB: 12-15-83), both of Houston, are charged with murder in the 351st State District Court. The victim, Turcious Villeda Marcial, 25, of Houston, suffered multiple stab wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene. HPD Homicide Division Sergeant M. Dillingham and Senior Police Officer J.C. Bonaby reported: The suspects, Reyes and Lopez, were drinking and playing loud music in the early morning hours on Monday (Aug. 17) when the victim, Mr. Marcial, a roommate of Reyes, asked the suspects to turn down the music because he had to work in the morning. The three men began to argue and then fight and Marcial was stabbed several times in the back, neck and torso. Marcial’s wrists were then bound and a crime scene was staged to appear as a home invasion. Further investigation identified Lopez and Reyes as the suspects and later that day (Aug. 17) both were taken into custody. Both men admitted to stabbing Marcial and Reyes admitted to staging the crime scene. Update: KJS/VHS For additional information, please contact the HPD Public Affairs Division at 713-308-3200 . |
