Fatal Auto-Pedestrian Accident at 10000 Long Point Road

August 17, 2009 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in the 10000 block of Long Point Road about 9:10 p.m. on Saturday (Aug. 15). 

The male victim, 81, suffered severe head trauma and was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital in critical condition.  Doctors pronounced him dead on Sunday (Aug. 16). 

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Arnold and Officers D. Money and J. Butler reported: 

Patrol officers responded to a person down call at Long Point near North Gessner and found the victim lying in the middle of the street.  According to witnesses, the victim was struck by a red Toyota Corolla as he crossed the street.  The Corolla then left the scene in an unknown direction.
