Charges Filed in Fatal Auto-Pedestrian Accident at 11600 Cullen

August 3, 2009 - Charges have been filed against a motorist involved in a fatal traffic accident in the 11600 block of Cullen Boulevard about 10:35 p.m. on Saturday (Aug. 1). 

The suspect, John Henry Alexander (b/m, DOB: 10-6-45), is charged with driving while intoxicated in the 174th State District Court. 

The female victim was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where she was pronounced dead.  Her identity is pending verification by the Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office. 

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant I. Izaguirre and Officer I. Jefferson reported: 

The female victim was crossing the street in the 11600 block of Cullen when she was struck by a red Cadillac El Dorado driven by Alexander, traveling southbound on Cullen.  As Alexander pulled over, the victim was struck a second time by another vehicle, which then fled the scene. 

The investigation is continuing.
