Investigation Into Male's Death at 1600 Ruth

April 23, 2009 - Houston police are awaiting autopsy results in the death of a man found in the 1600 block of Ruth about 3 a.m. today. 

The victim suffered a blunt force injury to the chest and was pronounced dead at the scene.  His identity is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office. 

HPD Homicide Division Senior Police Officer A.D. Brown and Officer D. K. Gunter reported:  

Patrol officers responded to a person down call at the intersection of Ruth and Jackson and found the victim lying in the street next to the curb, deceased. 

There is no known motive, witnesses or suspects at this time.
