Investigation Into Fatal Traffic Accident at 5000 Calhoun

April 22, 2009 - Houston police are investigating a traffic accident at 5000 Calhoun about 8:30 p.m. on Sunday (Apr. 19) that resulted in a motorcycle passenger’s death.

The passenger, Jessica Whitty, 19, died from her injuries Tuesday (Apr. 21) at a local hospital. 

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Officer J. Z. Lin reported:

The motorcyclist, Brion Jacobs, 27, and passenger Ms. Whitty were traveling north on Calhoun Road when Jacobs lost control, causing both riders to be ejected from the motorcycle.  Neither Jacobs nor Whitty were wearing helmets and were taken to a local hospital for treatment.  HPD’s Vehicular Crimes Division was notified Tuesday (Apr. 21) that Whitty had died from her injuries.

The investigation is ongoing.
