Charges Pending in Fatal Shooting at 9002 Sterlingshire September 17, 2008 - Charges are pending against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man at 9002 Sterlingshire about 9 p.m. on Sept. 2, 2008. The suspect, Michael Anthony Johnson (b/m, DOB: 9-10-67) faces a charge of murder in the 232nd State District Court. Johnson was previously charged with aggravated assault with serious bodily injury in the same court for this incident. The victim, Curtis Riley, 41, of Houston, suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital. Doctors pronounced him dead on Friday (September 12). HPD Homicide Division Sergeant A. Carrillo and Senior Police Officer H. A. Chavez reported: On September 2, Mr. Riley and Johnson got into an argument in the parking lot at 9002 Sterlingshire. During the argument, Johnson pulled out a pistol and shot Riley. Johnson was arrested at the scene and taken into custody. Johnson remains in custody in Harris County Jail for this incident. VHS/JC
