Fatal Traffic Accident at 2200 Bay Area Boulevard October 6, 2008 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in the 2200 block of Bay Area Boulevard about 2:25 a.m. on Sunday (October 5). The victim, Derek Ray Mills, 24, of Liverpool, Texas, was pronounced dead at the scene. HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Morgan and Officer P. Tran reported: A gray Chevrolet pickup truck was traveling westbound in the 2200 block of Bay Area Boulevard and made a U-turn onto the eastbound lanes. As the pickup completed the turn, Mr. Mills, operating a blue Yamaha motorcycle, struck the back right of the Chevrolet. Mills was thrown from the motorcycle as it caught fire after impact. Speed nor intoxication appear to be factors in this accident. The investigation is continuing. GO/JFC |
