Fatal Traffic Accident at 15300 Eastex Freeway October 6, 2008 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in the 15300 block of the Eastex Freeway (U.S. Highway 59 North) about 3:15 a.m. on Friday (Oct. 3). One victim, Keona Maze, 21, of Louisiana, was pronounced dead at the scene. A second victim, whose identity is pending verification by the Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office, was also pronounced dead at the scene. HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Morgan and Officer S. Johnson reported: A tan Lexus, in which Maze and the unidentified victim were back seat passengers, was traveling northbound in the 15300 block of the Eastex Freeway when for an unknown reason, the vehicle veered off the road to the right. The Lexus then struck a concrete pillar on the passenger side. The driver of the Lexus, a 21-year-old female, was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital in unknown condition. The front passenger, a 24-year-old male, was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital in unknown condition. The investigation is continuing. VHS/JFC |
