Shooting at 9601 West Montgomery Road #221 October 3, 2008 - The shooting of a female by her husband at 9601 West Montgomery Road #221 about 12:30 a.m. today will be referred to a Harris County Grand Jury. The victim, Latina Shaw, 30, of Houston, suffered gunshot wounds to her upper arm and neck. She was transported Memorial Hermann Hospital and is expected to recover from her wounds. Her husband, John Amos, suffered an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head and was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital. HPD Homicide Division Officers B. Evans and J.T. Barringer reported: Officers responded to a shooting call at 9601 West Montgomery Road #221 and found Amos (the suspect) at the location with a gunshot wound to the head. Ms. Shaw was located across the parking lot outside of another apartment with her wounds. Officers learned Shaw and Amos were having an argument when Amos shot her then himself, in an apparent murder/suicide attempt. GO/JC |
