Man Found Dead at 2700 South Freeway

November 17, 2008 - Houston police are awaiting autopsy results on a man found dead at 2700 South Freeway (State Highway 288) about 5:35 p.m. on Friday (Nov. 14).

The identity of the victim is pending verification by the Harris County Medical Examiner's Office. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant W. Bush and Officer C. Sturdivant reported:

Officers responded to a person down call in the 2700 block of the South Freeway southbound lanes after a passing motorist saw the victim lying on the shoulder of the freeway behind a guardrail.

It does not appear the victim was struck by a vehicle.

There are no known witnesses to the incident at this time.
