Investigation in Man’s Death at 4400 West Airport March 25, 2008 - The fatal stabbing of a man at 4400 West Airport about 9:45 a.m. on Sunday (March 23) will be referred to a Harris County grand jury. The identity of the victim, 32, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office. He suffered a stab wound to the chest and was pronounced dead at the scene. HPD Homicide Division Sergeant P.C. Motard and Officer C.P. Abbondandolo reported: Mr. Rodney Piper was at his girlfriend’s apartment on Easter morning when her former boyfriend (the victim) came to her apartment door, demanding to be let inside to pick up some of his belongings. Witnesses said the victim pushed his way into the apartment and then struck Piper in the face. At that time, the two got into a struggle and Piper stabbed the male one time in the chest. The male left the apartment and collapsed as he walked toward his car. Piper called 911 and paramedics pronounced the male dead. Piper was questioned and released pending the outcome of the investigation and actions of the grand jury.
