Attempted Capital Murder at 4600 Creekmont March 24, 2008 - Houston police are investigating the assault of a man at 4600 Creekmont about 8:05 a.m. on Saturday (March 22). The victim, Baldemar Fuentes, 35, of Stafford, suffered a severe head injury and was initially transported to Lyndon Baines Johnson General Hospital. Due to the severity of the injury, which appeared to be a gunshot wound, Fuentes was later taken to Ben Taub General Hospital where he underwent surgery and is listed in critical condition. HPD Homicide Division Sergeant D.A. Ferguson and Senior Police Officer T.J. McCorvey reported: HPD and paramedics responded to call at 4600 Crestmont after a witness riding a bicycle found Fuentes lying face down in a ditch. Investigators learned Fuentes was employed as a wrecker driver for Eastside Wrecker in Stafford and notified a company employee of the incident. It was determined the company completed a missing persons report at about 1 p.m. on Saturday (March 22) with the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office after not hearing from Fuentes since towing a prisoner vehicle to a storage lot in Stafford shortly after midnight the same day (March 22).
