Suspect Arrested in Aggravated Assault at 17202 Imperial Valley June 30, 2008 - Charges are pending against a suspect arrested in the aggravated assault of a woman at 17202 Imperial Valley about 2:30 a.m. today. The suspect, Qualen Dejuane Bell, 32, faces an aggravated assault charge. He was arrested at the scene shortly after the incident. The female victim, 29, suffered bruising to her face and neck and was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital in critical condition. HPD Homicide Division Sergeants D. A. Ferguson and J. H. Roberts reported: The victim was in her apartment with her current boyfriend when Bell came to the door. When the victim opened the door, Bell entered the residence and struck her several times with both open hand and closed fists. The victim appeared to also have been choked during the incident. The victim’s current boyfriend, who was struck at least once during the incident, fled the residence and called 9-1-1. Bell was taken into custody at the scene. |
