Fatal Shooting at 6363 West Airport June 16, 2008 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 6363 West Airport about 11:10 p.m. on Saturday (June 14). The victim is identified as Kenneth Lavel Brooks Jr., 18, of Houston. He suffered at least one gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene. HPD Homicide Division Sergeant L.A. Flores and Senior Police Officer J. Selvera reported: Witnesses stated Mr. Brooks was on the parking lot of the Greenhouse Patio apartments when an unknown suspect began shooting at him. Brooks managed to run several yards across the parking lot before he collapsed. The suspect continued to shoot at Brooks and then fled on foot. The suspect is described only as a black male, 19 to 25 years old, 5 feet 5 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall, and weighing anywhere from 150 to 200 pounds. Witnesses said the suspect had black dreadlock hair and was wearing a black hooded shirt and black pants.
