Update on Traffic Accident at 8802 Stella Link July 10, 2008 - A pedestrian has died from his injuries following a traffic accident at 8802 Stella Link about 7 a.m. on June 23. The victim, Mark Fite, 77, of Houston, was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital where doctors pronounced him dead last Friday (July 4). HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant R. L. Gaines and Officer J. M. Aldape reported: The driver of a white Nissan Altima was traveling on Stella Link when he apparently pressed the accelerator instead of the brake pedal. He lost control of the vehicle, crashed through the wall of the Shipley’s Donut Shop at 8802 Stella Link and struck Mr. Fite and two other male pedestrians. The injured pedestrians were transported to Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital. The investigation is continuing. VHS/JFC
