Traffic Incident at 3700 Southwest Freeway January 27, 2008 - Houston police are investigating the death of a woman at 3700 Southwest Freeway about 2:40 a.m. today (January 27). The victim, 28, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her identity is pending verification by the Harris County Medical Examiner’s office. HPD Mobility Incident Management Division Sergeant R.C. Gonzales and Officer J.R. Garcia reported: The victim was a passenger in a tan Lincoln Navigator travelling northbound on the Southwest Freeway when she fell out of the vehicle and onto the moving lanes of the freeway. The victim was struck by an unknown number of vehicles that failed to stop and render aid. Officers from the Hit and Run Unit also responded to the location to investigate. The male driver of the Navigator was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital for a mandatory blood test. The case is still under investigation and will be referred to the Harris County District Attorney’s office for possible charges.
