Incident at 201 Plaza Verde January 12, 2008 - Charges are pending against one of two suspects in the robbery and shooting of a man at 201 Plaza Verde about 9:45 p.m. on Friday (Jan. 11). The suspect, Jermarcus Jonte Wynn (b/m, DOB: 7-24-83), was arrested with the assistance of an HPD K-9 officer shortly after the shooting of Mario Jasso, 32. Mr. Jasso, who suffered multiple gunshot wounds, underwent surgery at Ben Taub General Hospital where he is reported in stable condition. A second suspect fled on foot and has not been apprehended. HPD Homicide Division Officers M.A. Khan and T.T. Pool reported: The suspects shot Mr. Jasso during a robbery at the apartment complex at 201 Plaza Verde. As a patrol officer was gathering information on a separate robbery call at the complex, the officer heard three to four gunshots coming from the front of the apartment complex. As the officer arrived to that area, he saw two vehicles speeding from the scene and Mr. Jasso on the ground. One vehicle was pulled over by officers and the other driver refused to stop until his vehicle struck a median at 1 Northpoint Drive. Both males in that vehicle fled on foot. A K-9 unit was called to the scene and helped officers locate suspect Wynn at 2 Northpoint Drive just before midnight. The other suspect remains at large. Anyone with information on the second suspect is urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
