Two Die in Traffic Accident at 6400 Telephone Road
February 25, 2008 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in the 6400 block of Telephone Road about 3:15 a.m. on Sunday (Feb. 24).
Two persons were pronounced dead at the scene. Their identities are pending notification to family members by the Harris County Medical Examiner's office.
HPD Mobility Incident Management Division Sergeant D. Arnold and Officer S. Johnson reported:
The driver of a white Dodge Stratus was traveling south on Telephone Road and stopped momentarily in the median to make a U-turn at Pecan Villas Street. The driver of the Stratus failed to yield the right of way to oncoming traffic traveling north on Telephone Road and was struck on the vehicle's right side by a Dodge Ram truck. The impact killed the driver and passenger in the Stratus. Two men in the Dodge truck were transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital with minor injuries. Four dogs, boxers, in the bed of the truck at the time were not injured.
The investigation is continuing.
