Update On Fatal Shooting at 8801 South Braeswood February 15, 2008 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man at 8801 South Braeswood about 3 a.m. on Wednesday (February 13). The suspect, Cedric Lamark Sharp (b/m, DOB: 1-17-89) is charged with murder in the 248th State District Court. He is accused in the killing of Maxie Alonzo Haywood, 31, who sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was transported by private vehicle to Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. HPD Homicide Division Sergeants M. S. Walker and M. McStravick and Officers E. Godwin and T.J. McCorvey reported: Mr. Haywood, believed to be a resident of the Braescourt Apartments, was in the parking lot of the complex, when Sharp approached Haywood and shot him several times. Further investigation identified Sharp as the suspect in this case and on Wednesday (Feb. 13), he was arrested without incident.
