2nd Update on Fatal Robbery Shooting at 4114 Fulton February 14, 2008 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in a botched robbery that ended with the fatal shooting of a female victim and a male suspect at a grocery store at 4114 Fulton about 8:45 p.m. on December 14. The suspect, Calvin Ray Randle (b/m, DOB: 4-17-53), was arrested at his residence at 8327 Ponnell on Wednesday (Feb. 13) by HPD homicide investigators, with assistance from members of the North Patrol Division Tactical Unit. Investigators said Randle was the driver of a second vehicle seen picking up two robbery suspects after they abandoned their vehicle used in the robbery and shooting. Randle is charged with capital murder in the 209th State District Court. Randle was one of three suspects involved in the killing of Janette Dominguez, 68, who suffered gunshot wounds and was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where she later died. A second victim, a security guard, suffered a gunshot wound and was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital in stable condition. One suspect, Lisbon Wilkins (b/m, DOB: 6-18-80), was found fatally shot in a nearby neighborhood shortly after the shooting. He suffered his wounds in an exchange of gunfire with the security guard. HPD Homicide Division Sergeant R. A. Odom and Officer J.L Coffelt reported: Wilkins and another suspect attempted to rob the Fiesta Mart at 4114 Fulton. A security guard was shot while he exchanged gunfire with both suspects. Ms. Dominguez, a patron, was shot several times. Investigators believed the security guard wounded one of the suspects. Both suspects fled the scene in a van located a short time later. According to witnesses, a third suspect picked up the two robbery suspects in another vehicle and fled the area. The Harris County Sheriff’s Department responded to a report of a dead man in a nearby residential neighborhood shortly after the incident. The Harris County Medical Examiner’s office identified the male as Wilkins.
