Fatal Shooting at 6498 Wilcrest February 11, 2008 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of one man and wounding of two others at 6498 Wilcrest about 1:55 a.m. on Saturday (February 9). The identity of the deceased victim, in his mid to late 20s, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Medical Examiner’s office. HPD Homicide Division Senior Police Officers R. Martinez and C. Scales reported: The victim was inside the “Rock Star Cafe” nightclub at 6498 Wilcrest when several unknown males got into an argument. The argument was settled, but minutes later another confrontation ensued at the front door to the club. During that second argument, an unknown suspect fired several shots at the victim and other males. The deceased victim was transported by a private vehicle to West Houston Medical Center and then immediately taken by HFD paramedics to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The two other male gunshot victims were treated and released from West Houston Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
