Suspect Arrested in Fatal Traffic Accident at 2600 North Freeway December 04, 2008 - Charges are pending against a suspect arrested in a fatal traffic accident about 2:05 a.m. today (Dec. 4) at 2600 North Freeway (Interstate Highway 45 North). The suspect, Patrick Vallejo (H/m, DOB: 2-14-78), faces charges of intoxication manslaughter in the death of another motorist, Lawrence Johnson III, 38, of Houston. HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Morgan and Officer A. Alaniz reported: Mr. Johnson was driving a white Isuzu Rodeo in the southbound lanes on the North Freeway when his vehicle was struck head-on by a white Chevrolet Malibu traveling the wrong way on the freeway. Johnson died at the scene. The driver (Vallejo) of the Malibu, who appeared intoxicated, was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital with unknown injuries. Once discharged from the hospital, suspect Vallejo will be taken to the Harris County Jail. JFC/VHS |
