Fatality Traffic Accident at 5500 South Shepherd August 4, 2008 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in the 5500 block of South Shepherd about 11:40 p.m. on Friday (August 1). The victim, identified as Robert Ohnesorge, 40, was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced dead. HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Morgan and Officer A. Alaniz reported: Mr. Ohnesorge was operating a black Honda CBR motorcycle northbound on South Shepherd, in the center lane, when he lost control and struck an electric pole. Investigators observed one side of the street raised approximately two inches higher than the other side at the center, and believe this caused Mr. Ohnesorge to lose control.
