Charges Filed in Fatal Stabbing at 2315 Old Galveston Road April 28, 2008 - Charges have been filed against two suspects arrested in the fatal stabbing of a man at 2315 Old Galveston Road about 5:25 p.m. on Saturday (April 26). The suspect, Pedro Cebrero (H/m DOB: 12-4-64) is charged with murder in the 176th State District Court. His brother, Erasmo Cebrero (H/m, DOB: 11-25-62) is charged with tampering and fabricating evidence in the same court. The victim, Jose Mauricio Sosa, 38, of Houston, suffered a stab wound to the abdomen and was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where he later died. HPD Homicide Division Sergeant C. M. Cegielski and Officer B.W. Nabors reported: Mr. Sosa was confronted by Pedro and Erasmo Cebrero in the parking lot of the Lopez and Sons Tire Shop about a previous argument several weeks before. When Sosa attempted to defend himself, Pedro Cebrero stabbed him. Sosa then fled on foot from the scene to a friend’s apartment in the 8200 block of Brumblay, where the friend called 9-1-1. Further investigation identified Pedro and Erasmo Cebrero as the suspects and both were arrested a short time later without incident. |
