Incident at 13355 Force

September 22, 2007 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal
shooting of a man found in the 6100 block of Dashwood about 10:45 p.m. on August 22, 2007.

The suspect, identified as Antonio Cuevas (H/m, DOB 4-11-90), is charged with murder in the 180th State District Court.

The victim, identified as Miguel Angel Rojas of 7003 Beechnut #609, suffered gunshot wounds to the torso and was pronounced dead at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant L.A. Flores and G. Gonzales and Officers B.D. Evans and R. Moreno reported:

HPD officers responding to a shooting call discovered Rojas lying on the northside of the block. According to witnesses, while walking on Dashwood, Rojas was approached and shot by the front seat passenger of a dark colored vehicle.

Investigators have determined that Cuevas, a member of a rival group, approached and challenged Rojas' group's affiliation. Once Rojas claimed allegiance to the rival group, he was shot and killed by Cuevas.
