Update On Incident at 9898 Club Creek #1802

September 18, 2007 - Houston police have learned the identity of a woman fatally stabbed at 9898 Club Creek Drive #1802 about 5:05 p. m. on September 14.

The victim is identified as Angelica Lavaughn Smith, 17. Ms. Smith suffered multiple stab wounds and was transported to Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital where she was pronounced dead. The suspect, Shirley Ann Jefferson (b/f, DOB: 7-14-83), was arrested and is charged with murder in the 185th State District Court.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant J.C. Padilla and Officer A. Ibarra reported:
Officers responded to a stabbing call at the Bayou West apartments and learned that a female was transported to the hospital with multiple stab wounds. Jefferson fled the scene but was arrested a short time later, after witnesses identified her as the suspect.
