Incident at 8910 Beechnut

September 17, 2007 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 8910 Beechnut about 10:20 p.m. on Sunday (Sept. 16).

The identity of the victim is pending verification by the Harris County Medical Examiner's office. He suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was transported to an area hospital where he later died.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeants J. Brooks, C.W. Howard and M.W. McStravick reported:
The victim and a friend were walking near the parking lot of the Beechnut Palms Apartment Complex when confronted by several members of a rival group. One of the suspects produced a weapon and shot the victim multiple times. The suspects then fled the scene on foot.
