Incident at 602 Studewood September 6, 2007 - The fatal shooting of a robbery suspect at 602 Studewood about 11:50 p.m. on Wednesday (Sept. 5) will be referred to a Harris County grand jury. The identity of the deceased suspect, a 35 to 40 year old male, is pending verification by the Harris County Medical Examiner’s office. He suffered a gunshot wound to the chest and was pronounced dead at the scene. The shooter, Huy Huu Dang, 31, was not injured. HPD Homicide Division Sergeants C.W. Howard, L.A. Flores and Officer B.D. Evans reported: Officers responded to a shooting call at the Super K Food Store - Conoco Gas Station and found the suspect lying on the parking lot. Huy Dang was working at the business when he and other witnesses said the suspect entered and stole three 18-packs of beer. The suspect walked out and Dang followed, confronting the suspect as he attempted to get into a dark blue Pontiac Firebird. Dang and the suspect got into a struggle. When the suspect reached toward the right side of the driver’s seat, Dang feared for his life and fired one time at the suspect.
