Traffic Incident at 12000 Northwest Freeway November 26, 2007 - Charges are pending against a suspect arrested in a traffic accident in the 12000 block of the Northwest Freeway (Highway 290) main lanes about 1:25 a.m. today (November 26). The suspect has been identified Jorge S. Balderas (H/m, DOB: 3-16-82). He was arrested at the scene and transported to Ben Taub General Hospital for a mandatory blood draw. The female victim was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital in critical condition. HPD Mobility Incident Management Division Sergeant R.C. Gonzalez and Officer S.M. Johnson reported: Balderas was driving a black Chevrolet Avalanche westbound on the Northwest Freeway when he struck a white GMC pickup truck driven by the victim. Both vehicles went off the freeway, and ended up on the service road, with the GMC having rolled. The driver of the GMC truck was trapped and had to be cut out of the vehicle.
