Traffic Incident at 816 Cimarron November 8, 2007 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 816 Cimarron about 6 a.m. today (Nov. 8). The two-year old victim, a passenger in the vehicle, was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital and was pronounced dead. The female driver suffered cuts while a second passenger, a four-year old child, suffered an unknown head injury. Both were transported to Ben Taub General Hospital for their injuries. HPD Mobility Incident Management Division Sergeant N.A. Perry and Officer R.E. Newton reported: The driver was northbound on Cimarron in a silver Chevrolet Malibu, at a high rate of speed when she attempted to avoid a speed bump. The vehicle struck the grassy area of a ditch and hit a light pole, before striking the concrete base of a driveway. Preliminary investigation revealed no child safety seats were found inside the vehicle. The investigation is continuing.
