Update on Incident at 2600 Westridge May 24, 2007 - Charges have been filed against at suspect arrested in the death of a man found at 2600 Westridge about noon on Wednesday (May 16). The suspect, Larry Glen Williams (b/m, DOB 7/4/75) is charged with murder in the 182nd State District Court. Missing property belonging to the victim led to Williams' arrest. Williams has also confessed to the murder of Mr. Smith. The victim, Jerry Wayne Smith, 49, of 2600 Westridge suffered blunt force trauma to his upper body. He was pronounced dead at the scene. HPD Homicide Division Sergeant M. Scott and Officer C. Scales reported: Tenants at the Main Ridge Apartment complex complained about a foul odor that prompted management to search for the source of the odor. Management opened the door to an apartment and found the victim dead.
