November 15, 2021 - Houston police are investigating the shooting of a man at 8015 De Priest Street about 11:35 a.m. on Saturday (November 13).

The victim, Johnny Newsome, 64, was transported to an area hospital in critical condition.

HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Detective L. Castellanos reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a reported shooting at a gas station at the above address.  Witnesses stated Mr. Newsome had attempted to stop a fight between a group of females and was shot multiple times in the back.  The suspect, described only as an unknown black male, fled the scene in an unknown vehicle.
