Incident at 4700 Maxie

March 25, 2007 -- Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man and the wounding of another at 4700 Maxie about 1:40 a.m. today (Mar. 25).

The deceased victim, Sergio Garcia, 30, of 4700 Maxie suffered a gunshot wound and was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where he died. A second unidentified victim suffered a gunshot wound and was also transported to Ben Taub General Hospital in an unknown condition.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant M. McStravick and Officer T. Andrade reported:

Mr. Garcia and another male were sitting in a car in the driveway of Garcia's home when approached by three black males who began firing into the vehicle. Both men were struck by the gunfire.

The suspects, only described as three black males, may have fled in a green 1999-2003 Pontiac Bonneville with tinted windows which was seen leaving the area of the shooting.
