"March on Crime/Lucha Contra El Crimen"

March 9, 2007 -- During the
month of March 2007, the Houston Police Department observes its
23rd Annual “March on Crime/Lucha Contra El Crimen”
campaign. This program is designed to heighten awareness in Houston
area communities and encourage the citizens of Houston to join
the Houston Police Department in an effort to reduce crime.
This year the department’s Public Affairs
Division, in conjunction with Patrol Divisions, will offer crime
prevention programs designed to reach out to the general public.
The programs will take place at public places such as; libriaries,
parks, neighborhood centers, schools and planned festivals. Officers
will be handing out brochures and speaking to the public about
crime prevention strategies. Information can also be obtained
