Traffic Incident at 14000 Gulf Freeway June 30, 2007 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident involving a pedestrian at 14000 Gulf Freeway (I-45) about 2:35 a.m. today (June 30). The identity of the deceased male pedestrian, who was pronounced dead at the scene, is pending verification by the Harris County Medical Examiner's office. HPD Mobility Incident Management Division Sergeant D. Arnold and Officer D. Hall reported: An 18-wheeler, a motorcycle and at least two other vehicles struck the pedestrian who was sitting or crouching in the northbound lanes on the Gulf Freeway. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. The motorcyclist, who was thrown from his vehicle, was transported to Memorial Hermann Southeast Hospital in stable condition. He sustained abrasions and other minor injuries. There were no other injuries. It is unknown why the pedestrian was on the freeway. The investigation is continuing.
