Update On Incident At 7700 Telean July 29, 2007 - Charges have been filed against a suspect wanted in the fatal shooting of a man at 7700 Telean about 3:25 a.m. today (July 29). The suspect, Roberto Garcia Gonzalez (H/m, DOB: 5/25/76), has been charged with murder in the 185th State District Court. The suspect is 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighs approximately 170 pounds and has black hair of medium length. The suspect was last seen in a white 1999 Chrysler Sebring bearing Texas License plate number 512WPV. A photo of the suspect is attached to this news release. HPD Homicide Division Sergeant B. Harris and Officer T. J. McCorvey reported: The 74-year old victim, whose identity is pending notification to next of kin, was outside along with Roberto Gonzalez, who is a neighbor. Witnesses heard Gonzalez yelling at the victim to shut up and then saw Gonzalez shoot the victim, who was standing behind a locked chain linked fence. Gonzalez was then seen getting into the above vehicle and leaving the scene. The victim, who was shot two times in the chest, was pronounced dead at the scene. The weapon was recovered at the scene.
