Traffic Incident at 4000 Airline

January 24, 2007 -- Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in the 4000 block of Airline about 11 p.m. on Tuesday (Jan. 23).

The name of the deceased victim is being withheld pending notification to family members by the Harris County Medical Examiner’s office.

HPD Mobility Incident Management Division Sergeant J.A. Calley and Officer D. Guittierez reported:

A blue Oldsmobile was traveling north on Airline when the driver lost control of the vehicle, causing it to leave the street and hit a concrete sign on the eastside of Airline.

The male driver was pronounced dead at the scene, while his female passenger was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital with serious injuries.

The investigation is continuing.
