Traffic Incident at 1500 North Loop West

January 7, 2007 -- Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in the 1500 block of the North Loop West (IH 610 North) about 12:35 a.m. today (January 7).

The identity of the deceased male is pending verification by the Harris County Medical Examiner's office.

HPD Mobility Incident Management Division Sergeant R.C. Gonzales and Officer J. Vega reported:

The victim was driving his green Ford pick-up truck westbound on the North Loop West when he drove his vehicle off the roadway and struck a pole. He died at the scene and appeared to be alone in the vehicle.

There are no known witnesses to the accident.
