Traffic Incident at 7700 Antoine

January 4, 2007 -- Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in the 7700 block of Antoine about 2:50 a.m. today (January 4).

The deceased male victim's identity is pending identification by the Harris County Medical Examiner's office. A female driver, whose identity is also unknown, was taken to a local hospital with undetermined injuries.

HPD Mobility Incident Management Division Sergeant D.S. Runyan and Officer D.J. Gutierrez reported:

The driver was northbound in the 7700 block of Antoine when she drove her vehicle off the road, into the median and struck a tree. Her male passenger died at the scene.

The investigation is continuing.
