Traffic Incident at 1900 Hollister

February 25, 2007 -- Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in the 1900 block of Hollister about 10 p.m. on Saturday (February 24).

The identities of the two deceased males, who appeared to be in their twenties, are pending verification by the Harris County Medical Examiner’s office. The driver, also in his twenties, was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital with undetermined injuries.

HPD Mobility Incident Management Division Sergeant D.S. Runyan and Officer J. Vega reported:

Witnesses reported seeing a red 1997 Oldsmobile traveling south on Hollister at a high rate of speed when the vehicle struck a concrete bridge rail, head on. The two passengers in the vehicle died at the scene.

Alcohol may have played a factor in the accident.

The investigation is continuing.
