Incident at 7404 Gessner Drive #108

February 22, 2007 -- Houston police are investigating a the fatal shooting of a man at 7404 Gessner Drive #108 on February 22, 2007 about 1 a.m.

The victim is identified as Francisco Javier Avellaneda, 18, of 5909 Ranchester #1348, he sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant O. Belmarez and Officer E. Carstens reported:

The residents of the apartment woke up to their front door being forced open. Four or five males made their way into the residence and held all the residents at gunpoint while they searched for money and jewelry. Avellaneda, a nephew to the renter, was shot during the incident.
