Traffic Incident on Reed Road at Sharondale

February 18, 2007 -- Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at the intersection of Reed Road and Sharondale about 12:15 p.m. on Saturday (February 17).

The female victim, 61, died at the scene. Her identity is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Medical Examiner’s office.

HPD Mobility Incident Management Division Sergeant G.T. Hall and Officer J. Brashier reported:

A black Chevrolet Suburban was traveling east on Reed Road and a black Honda Civic, driven by the victim, was northbound on Sharondale. The victim either ran the stop sign or left the stop sign too soon and drove into the intersection. The Suburban struck the Civic on the driver’s side door and pushed it down the street.

The male driver of the Suburban was not injured.

The investigation is continuing.
