Second Update on Incident at 5711 Irvington
February 11, 2007 -- A suspect
has been arrested and charged in the fatal stabbing of a man at
5711 Irvington Boulevard on January 22, 2007 about 9:20 p.m.
The victim was identified as Yime Hernandez,
21, of 818 Eubanks. He suffered a stab wound and was taken to
Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The suspect, Bonifacio Cerda (H/m, DOB: 5-8-62),
is charged with murder in the 176th State District Court.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant J.T. Wyers and
Officer B.W. Nabors reported:
HPD officers responded to an assault call at
the Step In convenience store, after the store clerk found a man
unconscious inside a truck in the parking lot. HFD paramedics
took Hernandez to the hospital.
