Incident at 16001 South Post Oak Road

February 3, 2007 -- Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested after stealing a vehicle with a three-year-old child located inside at 16001 South Post Oak Road about 6:15 p.m. on Friday (Feb. 2).

The suspect, Chris Harris (b/m DOB: 12-13-89) has been charged with aggravated kidnapping and auto theft by the Fort Bend County District Attorney’s office.

Houston Police Department Homicide Division Sergeants R. Torres, K. Rivera and Officer S. Straughter reported:

The suspect stole a vehicle that was left running with three-year-old Andrew Chin still inside. The suspect abandoned the vehicle near the original theft location and the boy was found unharmed by neighbors. The suspect was identified and arrested by on-scene investigators near the vehicle recovery scene.

The Fort Bend County District Attorney’s office was contacted, since the incident occurred in its unincorporated area, and accepted charges against the suspect.
