Traffic Incident at 100 North Loop West

February 2, 2007 -- Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in the 100 block of the North Loop West (610 Loop) about 6:10 a.m. today (February 2).

The identity of the male victim, who was in his 40s, is pending verification by the Harris County Medical Examiner’s office.

HPD Mobility Incident Management Division Sergeant G.T. Hall and Officer S. Schlicter reported:

The victim was on foot, crossing the North Loop West mainlanes near Yale when he was struck by a Chevrolet Blazer driving in the eastbound lanes. The victim died at the scene.

The investigation is continuing.
