Missing Man Located at Hospital December 8, 2007 - Houston police have learned a man reported missing on Monday (Dec. 3) was located at Ben Taub General Hospital where he is being treated for stab wounds. The victim, Chester Ray Miles, 42, was last reported in critical condition at the hospital. The HPD Homicide and Juvenile Divisions are working this investigation and exhaustively following any and all leads pertaining to Mr. Miles’ disappearance and subsequent condition. It is unknown at this time where, when and how Miles sustained his injuries. Investigators are waiting for Miles’ condition to improve in an effort to speak with him about the case. Information received thus far indicates Miles was possibly admitted to the hospital the same day as his disappearance under an unknown name because he did not have identification on him. Miles was last seen by his wife as he dropped her off at work about 7 a.m. on Monday. His vehicle, a red Dodge Neon, was recovered late Tuesday (Dec. 4). Evidence found in Miles’ vehicle showed no indication foul play is involved, however, investigators are not ruling out any possibilities. Two individuals found inside the vehicle when it was recovered have been questioned, but not charged in connection with Miles' disappearance or his injuries at this time. This investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information in this case is urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
